Cleansing Prayer after Praying for Others

Lord, thank you for your ministry through us.  We acknowledge that You alone are Deliverer and Healer, and we gratefully relinquish any responsibility for ______ (and for_____ and _____) and release him/her/the into your hands and into your love.

We ask you, Holy Spirit, to come and cleanse from us any spiritual, emotional, or physical impact from this time of ministry, and remove from us any kind of attachments.  Purify us so that we are completely free of any after effects of this prayer time.  We choose to dwell in the shelter of the most High, therefore the entirety of our lives is safe in the overshadowing of the one true God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  He is our refuge and our fortress, our God in whom we trust.  Thank you, Lord that you go before us to make our way straight, and that your glory is our rear guard.

Lord, we pray that you would silence our enemies and destroy our foes, according to your faithful word.  We rest in your overshadowing.  Thank you for encamping around us and delivering us. We receive. Your faithful covering, sealed in Christ, behind, before, above and below.  We ask you, Holy Spirit to fill us with our joy and peace in believing, so that we might be a people of hope.

Lord, we acknowledge that our times are in your hands. We choose to be in your precise timing, your holy sequence, and we ask that you would re-establish for us your righteous boundaries of time and space, and position us exactly where you created us to be.

Now to Him who is able to keep us from stumbling and to present us blameless before the presence of his gory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Explanation:  When you pray for others, you have briefly entered their world, including whatever spiritual darkness and pain they inhabit.  You are now relinquishing to the Lord any responsibility for the person(s) for whom you prayed.  You are not responsible for their happiness or healing, and you relinquish them to the Lord in anticipation of His continued work in their lives. Also let go of any disappointments that may have come ifs someone is not apparently healed. Remember that frequently healing comes in the days, weeks, or longer following prayer.  This may have just been the first stage of healing for them.  Be willing to have been used by the Lord to plant His good seeds in their lives.  Let go or your own emotions following the prayer experience.

In addition, you have just come from the frontline of spiritual battle where you have been exposed to enemy eyes.  You want to return quickly to your normal safe position, hidden under the shadow of the Father’s wings.  He fights for us and will keep us covered.  This prayer helps you to return to that position of safety and peace.
