“It’s the pig that’s unusual” (2).

Wilbur needs a miracle. Charlotte performs four of them: four words that not only secure his future but shape his character. She gives Wilbur a superior identity by what she writes about him. He is some pig because “it says so, right there.”3

Like Wilbur, we need a miracle for our future too. And we have one. Jesus has made the way for forgiveness and reconciliation with God. We are new creations. We are some people in Christ. And God says so about us, right there in His Word.

We are . . .

new creations (2 Cor. 5:17)
sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13)
loved by Him first (1 John 4:19) and greatly loved (Rom. 1:7) adopted (like Wilbur) into God’s family (Eph. 1:5)
protected (2 Thess. 3:3)
complete through union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler

and authority (Col. 2:10 NLT)
equipped with powerful armor (Eph. 6:10–18) the salt of the earth (Matt. 5:13)
citizens of heaven (Phil. 3:20)
given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18) comforted (2 Cor. 1:4)
at peace with God (Rom. 5:1)
ambassadors (2 Cor. 5:20)

We have . . .

the Spirit of power, love, and self-control (2 Tim. 1:7)
authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19)
an inheritance in heaven waiting for us (1 Peter 1:4)
our names written in the book of life (Rev. 3:5)
knowledge that God is working all things out for His purpose (Rom. 8:28; Eph. 1:11) salvation and eternal life (John 17:3)

Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for saying we are Some People right there in Your Word because of Jesus. Remind me of this often and help me listen to Your whispers and Your Word.

Radiant Action: I will set a reminder on my phone to review three times a day who I am in Christ.
