“That pig is radiant” (5).

Radiant means “sending out light, shining, and glowing brightly.” Wilbur himself isn’t radiant, but the word Charlotte wove into the web says he is. Her web molds the community’s perception of who Wilbur is.

Likewise, the Scriptures mold us and tell us the truth about who we are and who our family in Christ is as well. Who we are for all eternity is not written on a fragile thread that will fade in time but is established in the infallible Word of God. It is written that we are the light of the world because He is the light in us.

Our radiance means we . . .

can flee evil desires (2 Tim. 2:22)
can endure hardship (Heb. 12:7)
can declare His praises (1 Peter 2:9)
can reflect His glory (2 Cor. 3:18)
can set our hearts on things above (Col. 3:1) can share in His glory (2 Thess. 2:14)

are rescued from the kingdom of darkness (Col. 1:13) are justified freely by His grace (Rom. 3:24)
are purified by His blood (1 John 1:7)
are brought into the kingdom of His Son (Col. 1:13) are being transformed into His likeness (2 Cor. 3:18) are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14)

have a genuine tested faith of greater worth than gold (1 Peter 1:7)
