Provision

. . . Mr. Zuckerman would keep him as long as he lived.²⁴ 

_Wilbur is a well-cared-for pig. He basks in Fern’s protective babying and thrives under Charlotte’s wise counsel, teaching, and loving friendship. He always has plenty to eat and is rescued from being eaten himself. For the rest of his days, Mr. Zuckerman “took fine care of Wilbur,” who had frequent visits from friends, and was very happy.²⁵ 

So it is that God provides for His children. His love is boundless. He is a faithful friend and a friend of sinners. He provides spiritual and physical food to nourish our souls and bodies. He is our teacher, our sustainer through tribulation, the perfecter of our faith, and the guarantor of a forever future with Him of perfect peace and joy. 

“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these” (Luke 12:27 NKJV). 

Prayer: You are Jehovah Jireh, my Provider (see Gen. 22:14). Help me to not set my hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on You, who richly provides me with everything to enjoy (see 1 Tim. 6:17). Thank You for the daily bread You give me that represents not only bread but carrots and potatoes, roast beef and chicken, apples, and ice cream (see Matt. 6:11).
